SMB

SMB stands for Schools Ministry Billericay.               (Click logo)

It is an organisation set up and supported over a decade ago by the local churches of the town.

Its aim is to go into schools in the town and offer lessons and assemblies on the Christian faith and also to be a community support to staff, teachers and pupils.

SMB looks to create links with churches and schools and to work in partnership at helping and developing children and young people.

SMB is run by a body of board members, made up of parents, ministers and volunteers.

SMB employs two part time staff,

SMB provides:

  • Assemblies.
  • RE lessons within the National Curriculum framework.
  • Bible explorers - interactive lessons looking at both the Old and New Testaments.
  • 'Connect' for year 6 pupils, helping in the transition to secondary school.
  • ALF clubs for upper junior age.
  • E:merge Junior - a Christian club for junior school age groups.
  • E:merge - a Christian group for secondary schools.
  • A link between churches and schools.
